Skinny Models Are In?

I have decided to turn this to a blog due to the recent debate on skinny models.  How skinny should models be? How should they look like? Models no longer just look thin; they look waiflike in this season's fashion catwalk. They seemed even skinnier than in previous years. Increasingly, observers are beginning to worry as these fashion shows are sending the wrong signals to many young and impressionable women. It is obvious that seeing super-thin models can play a role in causing anorexia and bulimia.  In fact, there is now widespread concern that model thinness has progressed from willowy to wasted.  Concerns now hit a threshold as evidenced by the recent actions of fashion show organizers. Many of them have decided to ban overly skinny. Young girls are being bombarded with the message that they need to be super-skinny to be sexy in order to look good or be accepted.  Rail-thin models, such as Twiggy, the '60s fashion icon was the exception. But now the norm is skinny models all over the place. It also does not help that pictures of celebrities such as Nicole Richie is on every tabloid magazine and newspaper.
