How to prevent size zero is a concern that potentially aneroxic patients should focus on. Anorexia nervosa is one of the most common eating disorder. The patient eats practically next to nothing and suffers from severe malnutrition, thereby loosing weight.
Why the term size zero? Size zero simply refers to the dress size. It is generally said that clothes hang better on a body shape that is slim. Hence, fashion models are often required to be slim or thin, so that they can present the clothes that they are promoting better. For a period, some fashion designers featured models that were wearing size zero clothes. Clearly these models appeared aneroxic.
Brazillian model, Ana Carolina Restoran, died from having size zero in 2006. She weighed 88 pounds at the time of death, suffering from infections caused by anorexia. Her death spurred warnings to all, including the fashion industry, about the dangers of becomming too thin. This forced organisers of fashion shows to put in guidelines to designers about having to hire models above a minimum body mass index.
However, the idea about being extremely thin to look good has already been sent to the millions of women taking cues from the fashion stages on what to wear and how to look. The growth of pro-ana sites on the internet is enough evidence. The rate of increase in eating disorders is still on the rise.

Bear in mind that extremes in weight, whether size zero or size one hundred, are unhealthy. If you look unhealthy, that can hardly be an attractive sight.

Here are some basic techniques for conscious and purposeful eating:
* Choose a food item that provides you pleasure in its taste and appearance but does not cause conflict of attitudes in any way. Put it in front of you, clear your mind of all other thoughts, and let the odours and looks of the food fill your senses.
* As you contemplate the food, focus your mind consciously on your food and take mental notes of any feedback from your senses as you eat, especially the first and the final bite. The process sounds easy but it is really not as simple.
* As you take your first bite, chew the food slowly and thoroughly; deliberately slow down the process so your senses can consciously experience the various sensations of taste, aroma, and texture. Pause and try to receive feedback from your senses.
* For the rest of the meal, proceed normally as you would with your meals. But remember to chew your food slowly and completely. Then, as you prepare to take your last bite, repeat what you did at the beginning of the meal. Be fully attentive and be 100% conscious of every sensation.
Once you’re done, sit back a moment and reflect. Ask yourself what proportion of time between the first and final bite you were conscious of your food, and what percentage you were thinking other thoughts.
Repeat this exercise once a day for seven days. You can vary the kind of food, but you must maintain your level of consciousness. See how much your attention will improve.
Eating consciously may sound tedious. However, it is an important technique that can help you prevent attain a size zero body shape, when you find yourself losing interest in eating. You need to stimulate your senses once again, in order to want to eat when hungry. Anorexics can feel hungry but not eat. When your senses kick in, eating becomes a pleasurable activity once again!
