The term "orthorexia nervosa" only came about in 1997 and was coined by Steven Bratman, MD. It also means "correct appetite". There is much debate about whether orthorexia is at all a legitmate eating disorder. Some say yes and others claim that it is only marginally different from anorexia and hence is not technically a seperate eating disorder. Some critics even suggests that Bratman came up with this term for the book that he wrote so that he could make a financial gain.
